I Went To London.

Not too long ago I took my first (yes, first!) trip to London.

I was anxious, nervous, excited and all that type of thing. It was a well overdue trip.

The conclusion? IT. WAS. INCREDIBLE!

I’ve always said that one day I would love to live in London. Having spent a week there, I can confidently say that I NEVER want to live in central London. It is too busy. There are too many people. And I probably wouldn’t save any money due to the amount of coffee shops and retail therapy I would have to do.

I would like to plan to go there again sometime soon.

I was kind of apprehensive about going to London at first. I had to get my head around eating at restaurants and being in crowds of people. I’m proud of myself, I think I did incredibly well.

Where are some of your favourites places to visit in London?

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without the food, the decorations, the stockings, the snow, the cookies, cupcakes etc…

Since I was away for Christmas last year, I have made sure that I go over and above this year. I didn’t want to miss out on anything.

Here’s a picture blog of what I’ve been up. 🙂

My Ultimate Christmas Playlist.

Getting into that Christmas spirit can be a bit tough from time to time especially when there is work, chores, Christmas gift buying as well as lots of other stresses.

A cheerful playlist will never fail to lift your mood and get you into that Christmas spirit!

Here’s a short list of my favourite Christmas songs. I would be very happy to just listen to this playlist on repeat for hours.

Michael Buble – It’s Beginning To Look A lot Like Christmas

Mariah Carey – All I Want for Christmas is You

Elton John – Step into Christmas

Wham! – Last Christmas

Band Aid 1984 – Do They Know It’s Christmas

The Pogues (Featuring Kirsty MacColl) – Fairytale of New York

Feliz Navidad

Wizzard – I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday

What songs are on your Christmas playlist?

P.S. I wish it could be Christmas everyday~ 🙂

What Christmas Means To Me.

For as long as I can remember Christmas has been my favourite time of year. I remember growing up with an overwhelming feeling of excitement at the thought of Christmas. To me, Christmas represents a time for family, a time where everyone can set asides their differences and come together. To me, Christmas is a time to show your appreciation for the ones that you love.

If someone asked me to describe exactly what Christmas is, this is what I would tell them;

  • Lots and lots and LOTS of chocolate, sweets, food, hot drinks (most hot chocolate and the occasional tea) marshmallows, candy canes, little santa’s, advent calendars and more… the list could go on…
  • Christmas trees and other decorations. Of course you can’t forget about the overly decorated houses that make you feel like you’ve been slapped in the face with the Christmas bug, but still, each to their own taste! Every Christmas, me, my mom, my brother and sister used to get all of the Christmas decorations out and decorate together. It was fun, I loved it. We worked together and by the end of it (with the odd disagreement of course) it was complete. It was beautiful. My mom always insists on having a tall green tree decorated with multicoloured lights, mixed coloured tinsel, a few sets of beads and finally, tons and tons of ornaments. I love it!
  • Christmas dinner. Where do I start..? Well, first of all, my family usually have chicken instead of turkey for Christmas dinner. Then you have the ‘pigs in blankets’, roast potatoes, stuffing, pork and cranberry sausages, Yorkshire puddings, sprouts, parsnips. carrots and redcurrant jelly. Just writing about it makes me feel hungry. And of course we cannot forget about the desserts!

I insist on leaving the Christmas wrapping until the week before Christmas if not Christmas Eve itself! I think that leaving it so late builds up excitement. Usually, I sit in my bedroom, get all the Christmas presents out, put the Christmas music on and spend a good hour (or two) wrapping the gifts.

I’m spending Christmas in England this year. I’m so glad to be spending it will my family. I guess it will remind me of when I was growing up.

As I’m writing this, I’ve just finished ordering a few last minute things for my friends and family. I posted packages yesterday for a couple of people (you know who you are haha!) I received a package from my friend in America this morning. (Tia – Thank you ❤ You know me too well)

Christmas, I’m ready for you. My gifts are ready to wrap, I have a long playlist of Christmas music, my Christmas jumpers are ready to wear. The trees and decorations are up. I cannot wait!

10 days to go~~~

What will you do for Christmas? Do you have any family traditions?

Happy holiday’s~
