5 Ways To Say I Love You.

With just a couple of days left until Valentines Day I thought that I would write about 5 little ways to tell someone you love them.

Mixtape:

Why not express your feelings through your favourite songs? Make your valentine a mixtape of all the songs that remind you of them.

Origami:

Make your valentine a origami heart. Maybe write a little love note inside too. 🙂

kakaotalk_photo_2017-02-12-14-52-25_17

Jar of Wishes:

This is one of my favourite ideas. Little paper cranes in a glass jar. They look so cute. Just like the origami heart, you can write a special note inside.

kakaotalk_photo_2017-02-12-14-52-23_22

Write your valentine a special letter.

Nothing is better than writing someone you love a letter telling them how you feel about them. You can tell them how much they mean to you and what you love about them.

Post-it notes:

What a better way to say good morning your valentine than leaving them a post-it for them to find while they get ready.

You can leave post-its anywhere. In the kitchen so they will find it as they make breakfast.

You can leave it in their car so they find it on the way to work.

You can leave it on their phone so they find it when they go to check their phone.

Will you be doing any of these for your valentine?

#TimeToTalk

kakaotalk_photo_2017-02-02-19-01-42_19

Today is Time To Talk Day. I’m so glad that a day like this is happening. It’s so important for people to talk about mental illness. There is no need for there to be such a stigma regarding mental health. And people certainly shouldn’t feel that they need to hide away and struggle in silence.

Having experienced both depression and anxiety I know just how important it is to talk about how you’re feeling. It also so important to surround yourself with supportive and positive people.

It’s important to surround yourself with people who are there for you, and people who will ask you how you are and what you’ve been up to. You need to surround yourself with people who you can talk to about everything and anything.

Mental illness can often make you feel like everything is your fault and that you can’t do anything right. This is not true, it’s just a symptom of the illness itself.

Mental illness does not define who you are.

You are not your illness.

I would just like to mention a book that I’ve recently started reading ‘Reasons To Stay Alive’ written by Matt Haig. It’s a fantastic book about the real struggles of depression, anxiety and panic disorder. I highly suggest any person who is struggling with those types of things to give the book a read. It’s really insightful. I would also suggest people who have family members, friends, boyfriends, girlfriends who are struggling with mental health to also give it a read. It will offer a great understanding about mental health to better understand your loved one who is experiencing these illnesses.

I hope that you’re having a great day today. If you are, I’m so happy for you. Keep doing what you’re doing. 🙂

If you’re not having a good day and would like to talk to someone. I’m here to listen if you ever would like to talk. Shoot me an e-mail at: Hannah_Agutter@hotmail.co.uk

And remember, you are beautiful and strong. You are not alone and you can get through this. Some days are worse than others, but I promise… everything passes, even the bad days. ❤

Things I Do When I’m Feeling Down.

kakaotalk_photo_2017-01-25-23-20-36_32

Sometimes I have those moments where I feel like the entire world is against me. Nothing I do seems to be right. And nothing seems to lift my mood.

It’s really easy for me to lay in bed and convince myself that it’s best if I hide myself away from the world.

For the past couple of months I’ve been trying to break that cycle. Even if I wake up and don’t feel in the mood to do anything. I force myself to get up and do something, anything.

I often find that once I’m up and doing something my mood automatically lifts. Here is a list of things I do when I’m feeling down.

  • Write In My Journal
  • Read Positive Thoughts From My Positive Jar
  • Paint My Nails
  • Read A Book
  • Go For A Walk
  • Call A Friend
  • Apply Make-up
  • Do Some Baking
  • Do Yoga
  • Take A Bath
  • Watch YouTube
  • Colour in Mindfulness Book

When I’m having a bad day, I tell myself that the mood is only temporary. It will pass and that I will feel better soon.

I’ve found that it’s important to not be too hard on yourself and remind yourself that you’re doing the best you can do. If all you’ve done that day is get out of bed and watched Netflix, that’s better than nothing. You could have just stayed in bed and done nothing at all.

I’ve found that you need to remind yourself of all the positives you have in your life and not focus too much on the negatives.

What do you do when you’re feeling in a low/bad mood?

Thank you for reading. ❤

Beating Those Winter Blues

Beating Those Winter Blues.

Lets face it, the winter weather doesn’t help anyone. The dark mornings, the dark evenings, the bitter weather, it’s bound to get anyones mood down.

Here are some things I do to combat feeling down during the winter months.

As hard as it can be, sometimes the best thing to do is just get yourself out of bed, stretch, hit the shower and get ready. I find that applying makeup makes me feel that much more put together and it certainly brightens my mood.

Exercise:

I love yoga. It gets my blood going. I always find that in the winter, my body gets so stiff which causes me to feel really unmotivated. Even if I just do 10 minutes of yoga, it significantly brightens my day.

Don’t binge eat but treats are great:

This is such a big thing for me. It’s those lazy winter days I find myself indulging in Netflix series with a cup of tea and biscuits. It’s not a good habit to continue.

My current obsession is Cadbury’s mini eggs, and it’s not even Easter yet!

I’ve found that if I indulge in sugary sweets and carbs it dulls my mood and makes me feel sluggish. I’ve start restricting myself a little by only eating small amount of sugary foods.

Going for a walk:

I love walking. It helps me think clearly. I get a lot of my ideas when I’m out and about. I find that sitting in one place can hinder me to think clearly. As well as stifling creativity.

It’s nice to get out into the fresh winter air and just take everything in. It’s a little cold though, so make sure you wrap up warm.

It’s too easy to get adsorbed into the online world and never really see the real one. I’m really guilty of not being able to step away from the online world. It’s something I’m looking at changing.

kakaotalk_photo_2017-01-22-21-51-05_7

Sometimes I take the puppy with me too.

I also sometimes take my camera. You never know what you might see. So many potential blog photo opportunities.

Reading a book:

I’ve found reading really therapeutic recently. I’m a slow reader. I’m still reading The Twelve Days of Lily and Dash. I’m nearly finished it though.

Organising:

I can’t be the only one that finds organising incredibly satisfying? I love it. When I feel like I’ve got my life in order, I can relax. I like to know what I’m doing and where I’m going next. It gives my life structure.

Taking a bath:

Nothing beats a warm relaxing bath on a cold winters night. Completed with candles, a book and an added bath bomb from Lush. A perfect evening ❤ 😀

I hope that you enjoyed reading this post. I hope that some of these techniques will get you feeling more motivated this winter. ❤

Gratitude Challenge – My Significant Other.

kakaotalk_photo_2017-01-10-11-35-04_55

Dear future husband,

How’s it going?

How are you? I really hope that you are well. In 2017 I decided to start this gratitude challenge. I started it in order to start appreciating the things and people that I have in my life.

For the past couple of years I have thought that married life would be better than single life. Is it? However growing up I always thought I would never get married. How did you manage to talk me around to the idea of getting married? I must have thought you were Not. That. Bad. 😉

Am I easy to live with? I bet I’m a nightmare awesome to live with! I bet I complain to you about leaving your dirty washing around right? And about how you always leave opened wrappers on the dining room table? Not to mention the pots, one by one stacked up in the sink. Why do you leave them there? Because why wash them straight away when you have more in the cupboard…? *Facepalm*

But I bet I secretly like cleaning up after you.

I can imagine that you NEVER have any sense of urgency. And that I can’t count on two hands how many times we will have nearly missed a bus or train through your bad time management. I bet it drives me insane! Some would call it uptight, yet I can imagine that you would call it cute. You will always find a positive!

I’m glad you’re the relaxed one of the two of us.

Do I cook for you? I really that hope I do! I really love cooking. I can imagine that I used to cook just see your face light up at a home cooked meal. I always thought that you ate out at restaurants too much anyway.

You are always so thankful.

I will always love it when you cook for me. You will always tell me that you can’t cook and that’s it’s nothing special, but to me it is. I will appreciate the effort.

Do we visit the river? I can imagine the summer nights when we will walk along the river hand in hand looking at the glistening water. And in the Autumn and Spring, it will be become a little colder and you will hand me your jacket. A true gentleman. And when it comes to the time for you to drive me home, I will prey that we hit every red light just so I could spend a little more time with you. Cheesy I know, but I always wanted to live inside a movie.

When I think of you. I don’t think of you as my husband. I think of you as my best friend, my companion. I think of you as the person that will always be there for me. I think of you as the person that I can turn to, the person I can tell my deepest darkest secrets to. The person I can yell at and come 4am you will hold me as I tell you that I’m sorry for yelling at you. Then I would tell you that I can act a little crazy sometimes. And you will tell me that it’s okay. Yet, I will insist that it’s not.

We will always agree to disagree.

I think of you as a person I can support, help, encourage and love. I think of you as a person that I will be there for when things are hard and when things are good. I want to be be the person that is there for you when you need me, just as you are always here for me.

I will tell you that I love you, and you will always say “I love you more” You will make me feel loved and wanted. You will tell me that there is no obstacle that we cannot overcome. And when I start doubting, you will tell me over and over ways in which we can make our future happen.

Your passion and determination is what I find most attractive.

*** I’m writing this letter as a reminder to both of us. A reminder to you if you even for one second forget just how much I love you. And as a reminder to myself if I ever forget just how grateful I am to have someone like you in my life.

Forever yours,

Your future wife.

Goodbye 2016, Hello 2017.

kakaotalk_photo_2016-12-29-17-04-27_78This year has gone so quickly. I feel like I say that every year.

Looking back on 2016 I realise just how many different things that I have experienced. Some good, and some bad.

When a year goes as quickly as this year has, it makes me realise just how important it is to do what you love, always! Life is too short to do something that you hate. Or be surrounded by people or situations that make you uncomfortable.

So with that all being said. I want to make some big changes to myself, my life and the way that I think when 2017 comes around.

Every year I make new years resolutions. I think it’s important to set goals, I think that it allows for self- improvement. Which I always think is important.

These are the resolutions I plan on setting for the New Year. Hopefully I will be able to stick to at least five of them.

  1. Be more self-confident.
  2. Appreciate my friends and family more.
  3. Be confident in the things that I want and just go for it!
  4. Make more film content.
  5. Blog more.
  6. Exercise more regularly.
  7. Move back to South Korea.
  8. Take TOPIK test.
  9. Learn how to cook more types of food.
  10. Stand up for what I believe in.
  11. Attend blogging events.
  12. Build blog following.
  13. Start a YouTube Channel.
  14. Do more of what I love.

So that’s it. 🙂

What resolutions will you be making for next year?

P.S. Thank you to everyone who has made 2016 great for me~~~ 💕

New Year, New Perspective.

kakaotalk_photo_2016-12-26-23-24-21_90

Everyone experiences difficult times. Since returning from South Korea I’ve been going through a rough time. I’m not adjusting back into England very well as well as a few other things.

Of course I have missed England, mostly my family and friends. I’ve missed home cooked foods. Especially roast chicken dinners! As much as I love Korea, there are some things in England that I do prefer. Christmas for example!

Since coming back I’ve gotten myself into this rut that I can’t seem to break out of. I have to force myself to eat. Going to sleep isn’t easy. Damn insomnia! When I eventually fall to sleep, I find it hard to wake up. Then I have a lingering migraine all day. I think it’s due to stress. I can only do so much. I’m trying, I guess that’s the main thing.

Next year is going to be different. What I’ve worked out recently is, it’s important to pick out the people in your life who truly care. The other’s that are in your life who don’t ask you how you are, even know they understand that you’re going through a tough time. Those are the people I need to let go of. They are negative and self-centred people.

As cliche as it sounds, you do only live once. And it’s important to remember that THIS IS YOUR LIFE. Not someone else’s. You cannot constantly be following what someone else wants to do all the time. You cannot keep asking them “how are you, did you have a good day?” to which they respond with, “Yeah thanks.” then the conversation ends. They never ask about you. Or how your day was. Or what you did. Friendships/relationships work both ways. It takes equal effort from both sides.

I’m excited to start the new year. I have lots of things planned. I’m planning on taking a TOPIK test (Korean proficiency language test) next April in London. I’m thinking about doing a masters degree, maybe in events management or business. I want to start a YouTube channel, like a proper one! Haha. I want to get back into filmmaking again.

It’s important to find something you love and go for it. Life is too short to be stopped from doing something that you love because of circumstances or people.

I cannot wait to see what the new year brings~

Things I’ve learnt About Myself.

I think I have a list of things I’ve learnt about myself since coming to Korea. So lets get started!

  1. I’m more confident than I gave myself credit for.
  2. I like trying new things.
  3. I’m open to new experiences.
  4. I’m more girly than I used to be.
  5. I think I might have OCD. My apartment is super clean and super tidy ALL THE TIME.
  6. I REALLY LOVE COOKING
  7. Learning a new language is fun.
  8. I will always be a shy person.
  9. I will never enjoy drinking as much as other people my age. But thats okay.
  10. I can ‘cope’ by myself without my parents. I’ve always been so hung up on that. Its about time that I’ve let it go.
  11. I love making time everyday to do my makeup. I love making the effort.
  12. I will always be a sarcastic person. Koreans will never understand.
  13. Teaching is awesome!
  14. Someday I see myself getting married and having children. The friends who I’ve been friends with for a long time. Are you shocked that I’ve written this???
  15. I like growing plants.

Well! People do say that you tend to find yourself when you go traveling. I think I’ve learnt quite a bit about myself so far. *highfive*

Have you traveled? What have you learnt about yourself?

– Hannah

Why I Moved To South Korea.

Everyone has their own reasons for doing things.
In England I felt trapped almost suffocated. I just didn’t know what to do. I just knew that being in England just wasnt helpful and I felt that I needed to leave. I’ve always wanted to travel. Asia especially. It was South Korea that I was drawn to. It was something about the language, the food and the culture. I just remember thinking that it was something that I wanted to be apart of. So that was it…! My decision to go was made!

As children (in England at least) you are brought up in the world to study —-> figure out what job or career you want —-> then work. You’re expected to figure your entire life out whilst you’re still at school.

The system doesn’t allow for people to not know what they want to do with their lives.

For a big part of my life I was okay. I knew exactly what I wanted to do in life and where I wanted to go. All the way through high school —-> through sixth form —->  through University. I had an incredible amount of passion for filmmaking. I figured that filmmaking was something that I would do for the rest of my life.

I remember saying to myself at one point “I don’t understand people who don’t have it figured out…” And “It’s not difficult, find something you love and do that for the rest of your life.” Oh how wrong I was!

I graduated University and I didn’t have a clue of what I was doing with my life! I was lost.

Eventually, I had accepted that maybe media wasn’t for me. But, where does that leave me…? At the bottom and staring up at what seemed like mountains of different decisions to make!

For months I felt sorry for myself. I wallowed in self-pity for a good 8 months. Then I decided I couldn’t live my life like that anymore. I learned to accept that it was okay that I didn’t have a ‘life map’ because realistically, who does?

I needed to find myself, and that’s why I came to South Korea. BEST DECISION EVER! 🙂

P.S. Have you struggled to find what you want to do in your life? If so, how did you overcome it.

10 People That Inspire Me To Be Positive.

Being positive is a great feeling isn’t it? There’s nothing worse than feeling helpless, demotivated and damn right depressed. Here’s 10 people that I look up to, they make me feel positive and motivated. They inspire me to work harder even when I feel like all I want to do is hide from the world. (or sit and watch TV)

  1. Casey Neistat
  2. Zoella
  3. FunForLouis
  4. Brooke Saward
  5. Megan Bowen
  6. Eat Your Kimchi
  7. Brian Johnson
  8. Career Girl Daily
  9. Milk Bubble Tea
  10. NiceMinimal

Everyone takes inspiration from different people and different places. These 10 people (apart from Eat Your Kimchi as they are technically two people) are people that inspire me everyday. I watch their videos, I read their blog posts. I aspire to be just like them. I challenge myself to do the things that they do, and fingers crossed that some day I get to go and explore the world like these guys have done.

So when you’re feeling demotivated and you need some inspiration, check these guys out. Let them inspire you so that you can go on and inspire others.

Are there any people that inspire you? Let me know in the comments below.

Enjoy the rest of your Monday! ❤
