Valentines Day.

Happy Valentines Day! ❤ ❤ ❤

Whether you’re single or in a relationship, I hope you have a lovely day regardless.

Did you tell your crush you like them?

Did you tell your boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife that you love them?

What do you have planned for this special day?

I won’t be doing much today. I have work during the day. Maybe I will do some yoga. Then in the evening I will curl up on the sofa with a cup of tea, a bag of mini eggs and watch a few episodes on Netflix. Perfect evening ❤

This year I’ve created a Valentines Day playlist on Spotify. Listen to it here. 🙂

#TimeToTalk

kakaotalk_photo_2017-02-02-19-01-42_19

Today is Time To Talk Day. I’m so glad that a day like this is happening. It’s so important for people to talk about mental illness. There is no need for there to be such a stigma regarding mental health. And people certainly shouldn’t feel that they need to hide away and struggle in silence.

Having experienced both depression and anxiety I know just how important it is to talk about how you’re feeling. It also so important to surround yourself with supportive and positive people.

It’s important to surround yourself with people who are there for you, and people who will ask you how you are and what you’ve been up to. You need to surround yourself with people who you can talk to about everything and anything.

Mental illness can often make you feel like everything is your fault and that you can’t do anything right. This is not true, it’s just a symptom of the illness itself.

Mental illness does not define who you are.

You are not your illness.

I would just like to mention a book that I’ve recently started reading ‘Reasons To Stay Alive’ written by Matt Haig. It’s a fantastic book about the real struggles of depression, anxiety and panic disorder. I highly suggest any person who is struggling with those types of things to give the book a read. It’s really insightful. I would also suggest people who have family members, friends, boyfriends, girlfriends who are struggling with mental health to also give it a read. It will offer a great understanding about mental health to better understand your loved one who is experiencing these illnesses.

I hope that you’re having a great day today. If you are, I’m so happy for you. Keep doing what you’re doing. 🙂

If you’re not having a good day and would like to talk to someone. I’m here to listen if you ever would like to talk. Shoot me an e-mail at: Hannah_Agutter@hotmail.co.uk

And remember, you are beautiful and strong. You are not alone and you can get through this. Some days are worse than others, but I promise… everything passes, even the bad days. ❤

Things I Do When I’m Feeling Down.

kakaotalk_photo_2017-01-25-23-20-36_32

Sometimes I have those moments where I feel like the entire world is against me. Nothing I do seems to be right. And nothing seems to lift my mood.

It’s really easy for me to lay in bed and convince myself that it’s best if I hide myself away from the world.

For the past couple of months I’ve been trying to break that cycle. Even if I wake up and don’t feel in the mood to do anything. I force myself to get up and do something, anything.

I often find that once I’m up and doing something my mood automatically lifts. Here is a list of things I do when I’m feeling down.

  • Write In My Journal
  • Read Positive Thoughts From My Positive Jar
  • Paint My Nails
  • Read A Book
  • Go For A Walk
  • Call A Friend
  • Apply Make-up
  • Do Some Baking
  • Do Yoga
  • Take A Bath
  • Watch YouTube
  • Colour in Mindfulness Book

When I’m having a bad day, I tell myself that the mood is only temporary. It will pass and that I will feel better soon.

I’ve found that it’s important to not be too hard on yourself and remind yourself that you’re doing the best you can do. If all you’ve done that day is get out of bed and watched Netflix, that’s better than nothing. You could have just stayed in bed and done nothing at all.

I’ve found that you need to remind yourself of all the positives you have in your life and not focus too much on the negatives.

What do you do when you’re feeling in a low/bad mood?

Thank you for reading. ❤

Beating Those Winter Blues

Beating Those Winter Blues.

Lets face it, the winter weather doesn’t help anyone. The dark mornings, the dark evenings, the bitter weather, it’s bound to get anyones mood down.

Here are some things I do to combat feeling down during the winter months.

As hard as it can be, sometimes the best thing to do is just get yourself out of bed, stretch, hit the shower and get ready. I find that applying makeup makes me feel that much more put together and it certainly brightens my mood.

Exercise:

I love yoga. It gets my blood going. I always find that in the winter, my body gets so stiff which causes me to feel really unmotivated. Even if I just do 10 minutes of yoga, it significantly brightens my day.

Don’t binge eat but treats are great:

This is such a big thing for me. It’s those lazy winter days I find myself indulging in Netflix series with a cup of tea and biscuits. It’s not a good habit to continue.

My current obsession is Cadbury’s mini eggs, and it’s not even Easter yet!

I’ve found that if I indulge in sugary sweets and carbs it dulls my mood and makes me feel sluggish. I’ve start restricting myself a little by only eating small amount of sugary foods.

Going for a walk:

I love walking. It helps me think clearly. I get a lot of my ideas when I’m out and about. I find that sitting in one place can hinder me to think clearly. As well as stifling creativity.

It’s nice to get out into the fresh winter air and just take everything in. It’s a little cold though, so make sure you wrap up warm.

It’s too easy to get adsorbed into the online world and never really see the real one. I’m really guilty of not being able to step away from the online world. It’s something I’m looking at changing.

Sometimes I take the puppy with me too.

I also sometimes take my camera. You never know what you might see. So many potential blog photo opportunities.

Reading a book:

I’ve found reading really therapeutic recently. I’m a slow reader. I’m still reading The Twelve Days of Lily and Dash. I’m nearly finished it though.

Organising:

I can’t be the only one that finds organising incredibly satisfying? I love it. When I feel like I’ve got my life in order, I can relax. I like to know what I’m doing and where I’m going next. It gives my life structure.

Taking a bath:

Nothing beats a warm relaxing bath on a cold winters night. Completed with candles, a book and an added bath bomb from Lush. A perfect evening ❤ 😀

I hope that you enjoyed reading this post. I hope that some of these techniques will get you feeling more motivated this winter. ❤

The Power of Positivity.

Dear Journal,

I’ve mentioned this in a previous post, I’m always guilty of paying too much attention to the negatives in my life and dismissing everything positive.

Over the past couple of weeks I have began to change that. Every time something good happens, or I do something that I think I couldn’t do. I write the positive thing on a piece of paper and put it into a jar.

Writing my positives and achievements down on paper allows me to focus on the positive steps that I’ve taken.

kakaotalk_photo_2017-01-18-19-43-55_56

I’ve been having a good week this week. I’ve been motivated, positive and healthy. I’ve been doing yoga most nights. Drinking more water. Eating most meals. Writing in my journal…sometimes haha. It’s made me feel much more optimistic.

When you’re feeling down, stressed or negative I would definitely suggest doing this. It really helps you to see that you have more positive things in your life than you think you do.

How is your week going so far? ❤

What’s In My Bag.

Recently I bought a new bag from New Look. I really needed a handbag, I didn’t want to keep carrying a backpack around with me all the time.

kakaotalk_photo_2017-01-05-11-14-58_16

It’s very nice to be able to walk around with a smaller bag. So today I will be showing you what I carry around with me.

One of the things I wanted to do in the New Year is stay as organised as possible. That goes for my bad too!

img_3967

  • Organiser

I can’t leave the house without my organiser. I keep everything in it. Everything from important tasks and dates, to blog and video ideas, to my habit tracker. It has everything! I much prefer to write things down on paper rather than keeping it in my notes or calendar on my phone.

  • Book

I’m trying to read more this year! I much prefer to sit and read whilst traveling rather than sat reading at home.

  • Iphone

Need I say more?

  • Camera

I like to take my camera everywhere. You never know when you might see something you want to video. It’s best to keep it on me at all times!

  • Keys

Why would I leave the house without these. 😂

  • Hand Sanitiser

I don’t like my hands being dirty! And the scent smells amazing! 🙂

  • Lip Balm

Especially during the winter I tend to get really dry lips. I try to carry this around with me all the time and apply it as often as I can.

  • Lip Tint

A little bit of lip tint makes everyone feel better. Even if you’re not wearing makeup that day, it’s sometimes nice to just apply a little tint. It’s in a really pretty pink colour. 🙂

  • Headphones

I can’t go anywhere without listening to music. Music helps me think and organise my thoughts. It also helps me to stay motivated.

  • Vocal Study Cards

A little bit like reading, I like to study whilst traveling. I feel that I end up memorising more.

So that’s all. I’ve tried to keep it quite minimum.

Let me know your thoughts. What is in your bag?
