I finally, (yes! Finally) uploaded a Primark Haul video for Autumn.
I received a lot of messages this year asking me if I was going to make a YouTube channel.
The answer is yes!
I have finally started posting more. I hope to be posting once a week from now on!
Be sure to head over to my channel and subscribe for new videos. I’m very excited about starting this adventure. It’s a way to make myself feel a bit more comfortable and confident in front of the camera as well as in myself.
Confidence is always something that I’ve struggled with. Over the past year or so I’ve been trying my upmost best to build up my confidence.
I often feel like I am trying to prove to myself that I can do things. I can go to the shops by myself. I can get on that train by myself. To be quite honest I feel a bit strange writing this down because if you’ve followed me for a while you will know that I moved away for university. I also went and lived in South Korea by myself.
So for someone who has lived alone and managed to move halfway across the world, how can they struggle with confidence?
Well to tell you the truth I go through phases of being confident and then being withdrawn. Some days I feel like I can do anything. Then other days it’s like I don’t have any confidence and I just want to hide away.
It’s very frustrating, I want to be confident.
To build my confidence I have tried to make myself do small things. Maybe I will walk to the shop by myself. Maybe I will go and sit in a coffee shop for an hour or so. or maybe I will get on a bus and go to a nearby town for the day. Like I said, some days all of those things are so easy and enjoyable to accomplish and I quite often don’t even think about it. Other days its a chore to do those things.
One of the things I learnt whilst doing CBT was to reward the things that you find difficult. I try and set myself goals of the things I want to achieve. Once I achieve a goal I make sure that I reward myself for doing it. My CBT therapist always emphasised the importance of this technique as it trains the brain to recognise the goal as a positive thing rather than something to be anxious/scared about.
Over the coming week I’m going to be working on taking walks by myself. You might be aware that I’ve just moved to a new place so I’m working on making myself feel more comfortable here. I think this is a very positive step for me so I’m looking forward to achieving this goal. I think that it will do wonders for my confidence. 😀
What techniques do you use to build your confidence?
– Hannah ❤
Firstly, I’m so so so so so sorry that this post is a day late. This week has just been crazy busy, and it’s only Wednesday. I made it one of my goals at the beginning of 2017 to build on my self-confidence. So recently, I’ve taken up a yoga class among some other things. I’ve been feeling really great in myself. I’m incredibly happy with the progress I’ve been making.
Here are some of the things that I appreciate about myself.
Being a shy person definitely has pros and cons. But, I’m glad that I’m quite a shy person. I used to think that there was something wrong with being shy. But as I get older I’ve come to understand that there is nothing wrong with it, it’s just who I am.
- Problem Solver:
I’m a great problem solver. Admittedly, I am the type of person that kind of freaks out at first especially if it’s something I wasn’t expecting. But after that, I work as hard as I can to solve the problem.
I care about people. I care about people maybe too much sometimes. I tend to care about other people more than I care about myself. This is something I’m trying to change. However I don’t want to change the fact that I do care about others too.
I’m a passionate person. I care about the things that I do. When I start something, I give it my all. I like this about myself. I’m really passionate about the things I do.
This is something that I feel really strong about. If there is something that I cannot stand is not being proactive. If something is bothering me, I try to fix it. If I had a bad day, I will look and take the time to do things that will make that bad day into a good one. If something goes wrong, I try to understand where I went wrong and I try and fix the mistake. There is no point in sitting feeling sorry for myself and complaining about something I can try and change. I like to be pro-active.
How about you? What are some of the things that you like about yourself?
Lets face it, the winter weather doesn’t help anyone. The dark mornings, the dark evenings, the bitter weather, it’s bound to get anyones mood down.
Here are some things I do to combat feeling down during the winter months.
As hard as it can be, sometimes the best thing to do is just get yourself out of bed, stretch, hit the shower and get ready. I find that applying makeup makes me feel that much more put together and it certainly brightens my mood.
I love yoga. It gets my blood going. I always find that in the winter, my body gets so stiff which causes me to feel really unmotivated. Even if I just do 10 minutes of yoga, it significantly brightens my day.
Don’t binge eat but treats are great:
This is such a big thing for me. It’s those lazy winter days I find myself indulging in Netflix series with a cup of tea and biscuits. It’s not a good habit to continue.
My current obsession is Cadbury’s mini eggs, and it’s not even Easter yet!
I’ve found that if I indulge in sugary sweets and carbs it dulls my mood and makes me feel sluggish. I’ve start restricting myself a little by only eating small amount of sugary foods.
Going for a walk:
I love walking. It helps me think clearly. I get a lot of my ideas when I’m out and about. I find that sitting in one place can hinder me to think clearly. As well as stifling creativity.
It’s nice to get out into the fresh winter air and just take everything in. It’s a little cold though, so make sure you wrap up warm.
It’s too easy to get adsorbed into the online world and never really see the real one. I’m really guilty of not being able to step away from the online world. It’s something I’m looking at changing.
Sometimes I take the puppy with me too.
I also sometimes take my camera. You never know what you might see. So many potential blog photo opportunities.
Reading a book:
I’ve found reading really therapeutic recently. I’m a slow reader. I’m still reading The Twelve Days of Lily and Dash. I’m nearly finished it though.
I can’t be the only one that finds organising incredibly satisfying? I love it. When I feel like I’ve got my life in order, I can relax. I like to know what I’m doing and where I’m going next. It gives my life structure.
Taking a bath:
Nothing beats a warm relaxing bath on a cold winters night. Completed with candles, a book and an added bath bomb from Lush. A perfect evening ❤ 😀
I hope that you enjoyed reading this post. I hope that some of these techniques will get you feeling more motivated this winter. ❤
What do you do to beat the winter Blues?
P.S. Check back tomorrow to see my latest Gratitude Challenge Post. 🙂
I hope your week is going well so far. Today I thought that I would share with you my everyday winter makeup. Now, I’m not great at makeup (I am far from a professional) but over the past year I have been getting into trying out new products and makeup techniques. I have really been loving putting makeup on.
- Face Blur: Peripera
It does a great job at evening out your complexion. After applying this I find that my foundation goes on a lot smoother.
- Eye Primer: Collection
This is the first eye primer that I’ve bought. It seems to be okay so far.
- Foundation: Innisfree
I love foundations from Innisfree. I find that this gives a really even tone. It’s easy to apply and is long lasting.
- Eyeshadow: Urban Decay Naked 2
I’m in love with this palette. I usually use the colours ‘Tease’, ‘Bootycall’, ‘Busted’ and ‘Ydk’. Then for a little bit of eyeliner I use ‘Blackout’. I really like this combination of colours.
- Eyeshadow (Brown): Too Cool for School
I use this to just fill in my brows a little.
- Oh! My Eye Lash Volume Mascara: Etude House
I love love love this mascara. But I always find that it doesn’t last that long. It runs out fairly quickly. I do find that the mascara sticks to the lashes. It lasts all day and it can be a bit of a pain to remove.
- Pink Lip Pencil: Maybelline
This is a recent purchase. I’m loving it so far. It’s the first time I’ve actually used a lip liner.
- Vivid Matte Liquid Lipstick: Maybelline
Again, this is a new purchase. I actually bought a matte lipstick a couple of weeks ago from Sleek but I really wasn’t keen on the colour of it. It was too dark for me. But this one from Maybelline, I love it so far. I’m really into using pink lipstick right now. It goes great with the lip liner too.
- White Brushes: Elf
These were a gift from my friend last year. I’m still using them. I love them. They are simple of use. To be honest I’m not sure what to look for in a good brush, but these seem to do the job.
- Pink Brush: Etude House
It does it’s job. I’m thinking I might replace this soon with a proper brow brush.
- Black Brush: Boots
I love this brush. I find it so easy to apply my eyeliner with.
That’s everything. I actually didn’t realise how many products I use until writing this post.
I love how makeup makes me feel. It makes me feel more confident, and more put together.
Thank you very much for reading.
Let me know in the comments what everyday winter makeup products you use. ❤
This year has gone so quickly. I feel like I say that every year.
Looking back on 2016 I realise just how many different things that I have experienced. Some good, and some bad.
When a year goes as quickly as this year has, it makes me realise just how important it is to do what you love, always! Life is too short to do something that you hate. Or be surrounded by people or situations that make you uncomfortable.
So with that all being said. I want to make some big changes to myself, my life and the way that I think when 2017 comes around.
Every year I make new years resolutions. I think it’s important to set goals, I think that it allows for self- improvement. Which I always think is important.
These are the resolutions I plan on setting for the New Year. Hopefully I will be able to stick to at least five of them.
- Be more self-confident.
- Appreciate my friends and family more.
- Be confident in the things that I want and just go for it!
- Make more film content.
- Blog more.
- Exercise more regularly.
- Move back to South Korea.
- Take TOPIK test.
- Learn how to cook more types of food.
- Stand up for what I believe in.
- Attend blogging events.
- Build blog following.
- Start a YouTube Channel.
- Do more of what I love.
So that’s it. 🙂
What resolutions will you be making for next year?
P.S. Thank you to everyone who has made 2016 great for me~~~ 💕
