Be Your Own Best.

Dear Reader,

I wanted to start this post off as a dear journal post, however as I thought more about what I wanted to write I thought that a lot of you would relate and be feeling the same too.

Its so easy to get caught up in pushing yourself to do more, or do better. I am also very guilty of this.

I have just finished a at home yoga session with one of my favourite yoga instructors on YouTube. The session was aimed for times when you might be feeling stressed. I guess its not secret to those around me that I put a huge amount of pressure on myself to do more and be better so this session seemed appropriate.

I’ve made it my daily mission over the past week or so to try and not stress the little things and OMG has it been difficult! Its so easy to allow myself to fly off the handle about bits on the floor, and washing left on the side and don’t get me started on the time I thought we had ran out of mayonnaise. I’m on a bit of a tangent now though, the point is, life is too short.

All of the stress that we carry around on a daily basis ultimately causes us more emotional and physical pain in tbe future.

I like the saying, live for today…

Because its true. Just do your best and remind yourself that you’re doing your best and you deserve to be loved.

Keep being you and I will see you in a video I’m currently preparing to put up tomorrow.

  1. Progress with doing yoga for stress management and flexibility.
  2. Upload more consistently on my blog and Instagram.
  3. Cut back on caffeine.
  4. Read two books.
  5. Treat myself more kindly.

Monday Must Have.

How is your week going so far? Well I hope!

So today I wanted to share this hand wash with you! I never thought I would say that! I guess I’m a ‘proper’ adult now.

I picked this up from Poundland a couple of weeks ago and I’m in love with it. I know I know, it’s only hand wash but I am the type of person that washes their hands very frequently. So having a hand wash that not only smells nice but that is also moisturising is something that I consider essential!

I’ve Come So Far.

It has taken me years to be brave enough to walk around comfortably in a t-shirt.
I walked around Calais last weekend in shorts and a t-shirt.

It was such an achievement for me! 👍🏻💛

⭐️ Your struggles are a sign of your inner strength.

Keep being you and you will go far. Work on accepting who you are and where you want to go. Make no apologies for who you are and just do your best!

25 Things I’ve Learnt in 25 Years.

Hello everyone! How is your week going so far?

  1. I can’t please everyone.
  2. Embracing who I am.
  3. Finding what I love and doing more of it.
  4. I’m learning to see my struggles as lessons.
  5. I’m learning what the most important things in life are.
  6. Getting my university degree wasn’t all that.
  7. It’s okay that I don’t enjoy drinking alcohol.
  8. It’s okay if people don’t like me.
  9. It’s good to have opinions.
  10. Coffee is as amazing!
  11. Traveling makes me excited but also anxious.
  12. I deserve love and happiness.
  13. I really do love baking.
  14. It’s okay to ask for help.
  15. It’s okay to cry.
  16. I’m learning how to manage my mental health.
  17. I don’t need to be ashamed of my scars.
  18. I find yoga therapeutic.
  19. It’s okay to not stress about the ‘little things’
  20. I have so many amazing people in my life.
  21. Someday I would like to have children.
  22. The idea of marriage no longer scares me.
  23. I will always be sensitive and that’s okay!
  24. It’s okay to take breaks and doing nothing is actually okay!
  25. Keeping a journal has/is very useful for my mental health.

So that’s it! 25 things I’ve learnt in 25 years. Some of the things on that list, I am still working on and will be mostly likely working on them on a daily basis. It feels so good to see the achievements and positives in my life.

At times it can be so easy to get bogged down with the realities of life that we forget to look after ourselves and appreciate the journey that we are taking.

Every decision we make and every tough day we get through is leading to something greater. We need to keep fighting because in the end, we will get to live the life we so deserve.

Happy Monday.

Today I want to share some tea that I have been loving recently. How have I not had this before now?

I’m huge coffee lover but recently I’ve been craving herbal teas. I picked this one up from Tesco a while ago and I’m so glad that I did.

I’ve been craving this tea everyday for the past two weeks. If you love fruity teas, I strongly suggest you picking this one up and giving it a go.

Hello hello! Today I want to share with you these awesome products that I have not only been loving but I have also been using them every single day.

They are everything I need in an eyeliner and mascara. For a long time I’ve struggle with applying eyeliner. I started off by using pencil eyeliner from Rimmel, which I still use on my bottom lashes actually. I’ve used quite a few liquid eyeliners but I’ve always found them difficult to handle. When I received this one for Christmas I instantly feel in love with it. It’s so easy to use and it stays on all day. I tend to apply a thin line on my top lashes. One day I will learn how to put a proper cat flick!

As for the mascara, I like to have one that really draws attention to my lashes without being too much. I like them to be defined! I have quite long natural lashes so it’s only right to flaunt them lol! I feel that this mascara is just everything I need right now!

My Go To Spring Lipstick.

Happy Sunday! I hope you’ve all had a fantastic weekend and are feeling excited and ready for a new week. I certainly am!

I tend to go through stages of wearing lipstick and just sticking to lip balm. With the weather warming up it’s inspired and motivated me to experiment a bit more with my make-up.

Late last year I purchased this high shine lip crayon from Primark. When I moved house I rediscovered it. It’s a strong pigmented pink and I love how it looks on my lips. I have been reaching for this lipstick more and more over the past couple of weeks. It’s going to be one of my favourite lipsticks this spring!

Night-Time Essentials.

Today I want to share with you a few of the products I’ve been loving to use before I go to bed. There is nothing better than getting into bed having done a full pampering session on yourself. A few weeks ago I picked up this Clean and Clear blackhead clearing daily scrub. I tend to get a fair few blackheads around my nose area and it makes me feel quite self-conscious. After using this for a few days I could already notice a difference. It’s also worth mentioning that this product is oil free. (hands up if you’re an oily t-zone person) I like to do this scrub in an evening time as i can let my skin breath overnight rather than putting makeup over the top straight away.

There is something so therapeutic about putting a face mask on, lying down on your bed and reading a good book. I know it’s recommended to leave the face mask on for between 10-15 minutes, but I would be lying if I didn’t tell you that it’s likely I leave it on for 30 minutes.

That enough about your face eh? Lets move on to body! I’ve been using (yes I know) another Soap and Glory product. What can I say! They have great products. My boyfriend’s mum bought me this as a Christmas gift and I have to tell you, it is one of the best body moisturisers that I’ve ever used. It smells amazing and it leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft.
