Welcome to Blogmas day 24!

Today is Christmas Eve! How quickly has December gone?

Blogmas is coming to an end, I cannot tell you just how sad I am about this. I’ve really enjoyed writing a post everyday. I feel that it has really kept me focused and motivated. I will be definitely doing Blogmas again next year.

I’m not sure whether or not I will be writing a post tomorrow. However I will be sharing my Christmas day over on my Instagram, so be sure to head over there to follow my day!

This morning, Josh and I got up early and headed over to a local restaurant for breakfast then we took a nice walk back to his mum’s house.

Today has been pretty relaxed to be honest. His family loved the cupcakes I made so that made me feel happy.

I’m very nervous to give Josh his presents, I really hope he likes them!

What will you be doing this evening?

Welcome to Blogmas day 23!

Today has been crazy busy. I got on a train to London at 6:22am this morning.

This Christmas I will be spending the holiday with my boyfriend and his family. I’m heading down a couple of days early so I can spend some time with Josh and his family before all the Christmas madness fully happens.

Presents need to be wrapped and put under the tree. I need to give his family the cupcakes.

It’s going to be a busy but exciting few days! Josh’s siblings are all younger so they really get into the Christmas spirit.

How are you spending your Christmas?

My Winter Look.

Welcome to Blogmas day 20!

Winter days are for wrapping up warm and cozy. This is the look i’ve been rocking for the past month. Cozy scarf, Christmas jumper and curly(ish) hair.

I’m really getting excited for Christmas now. It’s really creeping up fast.

Over the next few days I have a couple of last things to do and then I will be officially ready for Christmas.

Tomorrow is my last day at work till the 30th December. I’m really looking forward to having some time off.

Are you already for Christmas?

Cozy Afternoons.

Welcome to Blogmas day 19!

It’s been so cold in the UK. Over the past month iv’e found myself spending most of my time in fluffy and cozy jumpers. There is nothing I dislike more than being cold. When I arrive home from work I tend to take a shower straight away and change into my cozy clothes.

Cozy clothes and cute Christmas socks are something that I love about winter.

My winter go-to outfit at the minute is either the purple jumper I’m wearing in the image above or one of the two Christmas jumpers that I own. I wear it with a pair of black leggings I picked up from Primark. To top the outfit off, I slip on a pair of these adorable socks that I picked up from Tesco about a month ago.

Christmas MUST reads.

IMG_1226.JPG

Welcome to Blogmas day 15.

I’ve really been into reading this year. I thought it would only be right to get some cool Christmassy books to read this year.

I actually read ‘The Twelve Days of Dash & Lily’ last Christmas and I loved it. I’ve read it again this year too. I have a feeling that it’s going to become a book that I read every year.

I always picked up:

  • Christmas at Little Beach Street Bakery
  • One Christmas Kiss in Notting Hill
  • Sleigh Rides and Silver Bells at the Christmas Fair

I’m currently making my way through these at the minute. I’m loving them so far. I think I’m going to make it part of my Christmas tradition that I buy new Christmas books every year.

It really puts me in a festive mood!

Have you read any Christmas books? Any recommendations?

Christmas Origami.

Welcome to Blogmas day 13!

There are so many creative Christmas origami things you can make.

Last year I made some envelopes, hearts and bookmarks so I decided that I would do a few new things this year. I have also made some of the traditional snowflakes too, my mum will be using them as decorations around the house. I’m sure that I will post a picture on my Instagram.

This Christmas I have spent a lot of time doing origami. I find it so therapeutic and of course, it looks great around the house. I’ve been making bits and bobs to pin onto my inspiration board that I have next to my bed.

I’m sure that I will be posting lots of origami images over on my Instagram in the next few weeks so be sure to check them out.

Have you made any Christmas origami?

Festive Hot Drinks.

Welcome back to Blogmas day 12.

Today I’m going to be sharing with you some of my favourite festive homemade hot chocolates.

  • 1/2 cup of whole milk
  • 5oz of chopped chocolate
  • 1/4 heavy cream (you can add, but I decided not to)
  • Topping and sauce

I used the same chocolate recipe and I changed the toppings and syrups to suit the taste of what I wanted.

I topped the hot chocolates off with Christmas sprinkles or different sauces. I don’t know about you, but I don’t think there is anything better than a drinking a hot chocolate and cozying up on the sofa watching a Christmas film.

What I love about making hot chocolates is that you can literally add anything you want to them.

Over this Christmas the hot chocolates I’m wanting to make are:

  • gingerbread
  • mint
  • peppermint
  • orange

I’m literally so excited to see how they turn out.

Make sure you’re following me on Instagram (@paint_me_a_smile_) to see all things Christmas related! I’m obsessed!

Thank you very much for reading this post.

My Christmas Starbucks Order.

Welcome back to Blogmas day 8!

The only thing I love more than Christmas, is coffee. I’m obsessed. I couldn’t wait for the moment that Starbucks realised their Christmas drinks list. Also, are their take out cups just adorable?

I have group therapy every Friday morning, and as a treat for going I always buy myself a Starbucks drink afterwards.

My favourite drink is the Toffee Nut Latte. It is beautiful! It’s just the right blend of coffee mixed with Christmas, just perfect!

My current order is a large Toffee Nut Latte! Yes large, because it’s treat! Haha.

I would also recommend the fudge hot chocolate too. It’s also great!

What are your favourite drinks from coffee shops?

Christmas Mood Book.

IMG_1201IMG_1208

Welcome to Blogmas day 5.

Today I want to share with you a book that I’ve been putting together. Originally I wanted to do a mood board, but I decided against it as I wouldn’t be able to carry it around with me.

I found that going onto Pinterest gave me so much inspiration for decoration ideas and Christmas themed recipes for hot chocolates and baking ideas. So I chose the ones that I loved, printed them off and started assembling them into this scrapbook that I bought off Amazon.

This book has given me so much inspiration for this years Christmas!

Have you put together a Christmas mood board or book?

5 Things I Love About Christmas.

IMG_1224

Hello and welcome back to Blogmas day 4!

Today’s post is about 5 things I love about Christmas! I love most things about Christmas, but these are 5 things that I love more than anything else.

  1. The overall festiveness:
People seem happier. I love it. Everything seems much more fun, even chores.
  2. The winter clothing:
I don’t know about you but I always find myself dressing really Christmassy. My jumpers are usually purple tons or festive reds.
  3. Starbucks/Costa Christmas drinks:
I’ve really been into trying all of the different Christmas drinks that Starbucks and Costa have to offer. My current favourite from Starbucks is the toffee nut latte.
  4. Lush products:
The Christmas products that Lush have brought out this year are just awesome! I’m in love with the majority of them.
  5. Wrapping presents:
One of the main things I love about Christmas is the buying and wrapping presents part. Every year I usually leave all the wrapping till Christmas Eve as it builds up excitement for the next day.

What are your favourite 5 things about Christmas?
