Rainy Day Bits and Bobs.

Welcome to Blogmas day 21!

I don’t know about you but during the winter time I often have days where I’m feeling a bit fed up and a bit overwhelmed with all the Christmassy cheer.

When I feel like that it tends to make me feel quite down. This year I decided to buy a few things to keep my mind occupied.

I picked up some cross stitches, some magazines and a colouring book, all Christmas themed of course!

I’ve always found colouring quite comforting and having these things to do in the evening times has really helped relax my mind.

The best part is, you can remove the pages from the finished pictures in the colouring book to decorate your room/house. You can do exactly the same with the cross stitches.

What do you to relax your mind during the festive season?

My Winter Look.

Welcome to Blogmas day 20!

Winter days are for wrapping up warm and cozy. This is the look i’ve been rocking for the past month. Cozy scarf, Christmas jumper and curly(ish) hair.

I’m really getting excited for Christmas now. It’s really creeping up fast.

Over the next few days I have a couple of last things to do and then I will be officially ready for Christmas.

Tomorrow is my last day at work till the 30th December. I’m really looking forward to having some time off.

Are you already for Christmas?

Cozy Afternoons.

Welcome to Blogmas day 19!

It’s been so cold in the UK. Over the past month iv’e found myself spending most of my time in fluffy and cozy jumpers. There is nothing I dislike more than being cold. When I arrive home from work I tend to take a shower straight away and change into my cozy clothes.

Cozy clothes and cute Christmas socks are something that I love about winter.

My winter go-to outfit at the minute is either the purple jumper I’m wearing in the image above or one of the two Christmas jumpers that I own. I wear it with a pair of black leggings I picked up from Primark. To top the outfit off, I slip on a pair of these adorable socks that I picked up from Tesco about a month ago.

What’s In My Bag.

Welcome to the 2nd day of Blogmas!

Did you read day 1? Click here to catch up.

For today’s post I would like to share with you what I have in my bag over the winter time. It’s gotten so cold in England recently. It’s definitely hat, scarf and gloves weather!

I’ve really been into reading this year. I’m actually proud of the amount of books that I’ve read. Last week I started reading Christmas at Little Street Bakery. I’m loving it so far! I tend to read a lot when I’m on the bus to and from work or when I go into town.

I have been carrying my ‘happiness diary’ around in my bag too. I find that it’s great for those days that I’m struggling a little bit more. It helps keep me focused. I’ve had times during the day where I have felt down and I’ve re-focused myself by taking a few minutes out of my day to re-read my current goals.

Umbrella, what can I say? It rains a lot in the UK!

Victoria secret body spray. I love the smell of this!

And last but certainly not least, my phone and headphones. I can’t leave the house without them!

Thats pretty all the things I’ve been carrying around in my bag this autumn/winter.

What are some of the things you’ve been carrying around with you this winter?

As always, thank you very much for reading. I will see you tomorrow with a new Christmas themed post.

Beating Those Winter Blues.

Lets face it, the winter weather doesn’t help anyone. The dark mornings, the dark evenings, the bitter weather, it’s bound to get anyones mood down.

Here are some things I do to combat feeling down during the winter months.

As hard as it can be, sometimes the best thing to do is just get yourself out of bed, stretch, hit the shower and get ready. I find that applying makeup makes me feel that much more put together and it certainly brightens my mood.

Exercise:

I love yoga. It gets my blood going. I always find that in the winter, my body gets so stiff which causes me to feel really unmotivated. Even if I just do 10 minutes of yoga, it significantly brightens my day.

Don’t binge eat but treats are great:

This is such a big thing for me. It’s those lazy winter days I find myself indulging in Netflix series with a cup of tea and biscuits. It’s not a good habit to continue.

My current obsession is Cadbury’s mini eggs, and it’s not even Easter yet!

I’ve found that if I indulge in sugary sweets and carbs it dulls my mood and makes me feel sluggish. I’ve start restricting myself a little by only eating small amount of sugary foods.

Going for a walk:

I love walking. It helps me think clearly. I get a lot of my ideas when I’m out and about. I find that sitting in one place can hinder me to think clearly. As well as stifling creativity.

It’s nice to get out into the fresh winter air and just take everything in. It’s a little cold though, so make sure you wrap up warm.

It’s too easy to get adsorbed into the online world and never really see the real one. I’m really guilty of not being able to step away from the online world. It’s something I’m looking at changing.

Sometimes I take the puppy with me too.

I also sometimes take my camera. You never know what you might see. So many potential blog photo opportunities.

Reading a book:

I’ve found reading really therapeutic recently. I’m a slow reader. I’m still reading The Twelve Days of Lily and Dash. I’m nearly finished it though.

Organising:

I can’t be the only one that finds organising incredibly satisfying? I love it. When I feel like I’ve got my life in order, I can relax. I like to know what I’m doing and where I’m going next. It gives my life structure.

Taking a bath:

Nothing beats a warm relaxing bath on a cold winters night. Completed with candles, a book and an added bath bomb from Lush. A perfect evening ❤ 😀

I hope that you enjoyed reading this post. I hope that some of these techniques will get you feeling more motivated this winter. ❤

What do you do to beat the winter Blues?

My Everyday Winter Makeup.

2

Hello there,

I hope your week is going well so far. Today I thought that I would share with you my everyday winter makeup. Now, I’m not great at makeup (I am far from a professional) but over the past year I have been getting into trying out new products and makeup techniques. I have really been loving putting makeup on.

3

  • Face Blur: Peripera
It does a great job at evening out your complexion. After applying this I find that my foundation goes on a lot smoother.
  • Eye Primer: Collection
This is the first eye primer that I’ve bought. It seems to be okay so far.
  • Foundation: Innisfree
I love foundations from Innisfree. I find that this gives a really even tone. It’s easy to apply and is long lasting.
  • Eyeshadow: Urban Decay Naked 2
I’m in love with this palette. I usually use the colours ‘Tease’, ‘Bootycall’, ‘Busted’ and ‘Ydk’. Then for a little bit of eyeliner I use ‘Blackout’. I really like this combination of colours.
  • Eyeshadow (Brown): Too Cool for School
I use this to just fill in my brows a little.
  • Oh! My Eye Lash Volume Mascara: Etude House
I love love love this mascara. But I always find that it doesn’t last that long. It runs out fairly quickly. I do find that the mascara sticks to the lashes. It lasts all day and it can be a bit of a pain to remove.
  • Pink Lip Pencil: Maybelline
This is a recent purchase. I’m loving it so far. It’s the first time I’ve actually used a lip liner.
  • Vivid Matte Liquid Lipstick: Maybelline
Again, this is a new purchase. I actually bought a matte lipstick a couple of weeks ago from Sleek but I really wasn’t keen on the colour of it. It was too dark for me. But this one from Maybelline, I love it so far. I’m really into using pink lipstick right now. It goes great with the lip liner too.
  • White Brushes: Elf
These were a gift from my friend last year. I’m still using them. I love them. They are simple of use. To be honest I’m not sure what to look for in a good brush, but these seem to do the job.
  • Pink Brush: Etude House
It does it’s job. I’m thinking I might replace this soon with a proper brow brush.
  • Black Brush: Boots
I love this brush. I find it so easy to apply my eyeliner with.

That’s everything. I actually didn’t realise how many products I use until writing this post.

I love how makeup makes me feel. It makes me feel more confident, and more put together.

My December Favourites.

The year is coming to an end so I thought that I would write a post about some of the things that I have been loving. Now admittedly, quite a few of these are Christmas presents, however… they are things that I already love 😉

Now this scarf, I think I’ve had it a few years now, but I swear its something that I go back to year after year. It’s so cosy and warm. I love it! I think I bought it from New Look.

The Twelve Days of Dash and Lily. I’ve been reading this book on and off throughout December. I’m only about halfway through… I’m a slow reader. But I’m loving it so far.

kakaotalk_photo_2016-12-27-14-43-07_28

To be honest, I’ve had my Filofax planner for a few years now. But, I haven’t used it in a couple of years. When I returned from Korea, I decided that I wanted to get back into planning and organising. I got myself onto the Filofax website and bought myself the 2017 diary inserts (week across two days) and a month across two pages as well as a 6 month to view year vertical planner. I bought some wash tape from Etsy and Ebay. Then I began decorating my planner. 🙂 I can’t wait to start using it.

Zoella’s Body Mist – It was a gift from my sister. I love it, it smells so good. 🙂

kakaotalk_photo_2016-12-27-14-43-16_41

Okay! I bought this camera a few months ago. I’ve been into making lots of videos this month. I’m wanting to get back into filmmaking again after the New Year begins. Check out my current YouTube Channel here: HANNAH AGUTTER

I will be uploading more videos in the New Year.

The journal is new. It was a gift from my sister. I’m going to get back into writing a daily journal. I think it’s a great way to express feelings.

kakaotalk_photo_2016-12-27-14-43-25_42

I’ve been looking for a nice little pair of black healed shoes. These were a gift from my mum. I love them! They are exactly what I have been looking for. I cannot wait to start wearing them.

kakaotalk_photo_2016-12-27-14-43-23_68

This was also a gift for Christmas. I have been debating getting it for a while. It. Is. Beautiful!

kakaotalk_photo_2016-12-27-14-43-11_70

This month I have really been into painting my nails. These were my Christmas nails. I have been painting my nails weekly 🙂 I think they look pretty.

kakaotalk_photo_2016-12-24-13-33-23_87

My friend bought me this. I use it for drinking juice. It’s so cute and Christmassy.

kakaotalk_photo_2016-12-27-14-43-21_90

That’s it for my December favourites.

What things have you been loving this month?
